Biography
Dr Rodrigo Juarez is a Lecturer in Project Management and Programme Leader for the MSc in Engineering Project Management at the School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds. His academic background includes a PhD in Project Management and a Master’s in International Construction Management & Engineering from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, an MBA from EUDE Business School in Spain, and a Civil Engineering degree from ITESM, Mexico. Furthermore, Rodrigo is a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) by the Association for Project Management, a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) by the Chartered Institute of Building and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Rodrigo’s research explores infrastructure megaprojects, with a particular focus on the impacts and implications of project termination during the delivery stage. His work aims to advance understanding of effective project closure practices and their role in improving the efficiency and resilience of major and megaprojects, especially in developing countries. He is particularly interested in Latin America, where infrastructure delivery is often challenged by political, financial, and institutional volatility. His work has also received numerous awards, including the 2024 “Project Management Research Paper of the Year”, awarded by the Association for Project Management (APM).

I am looking for collaborators who are interested in conducting interdisciplinary research projects that are focused on addressing some of the grand challenges. Although my expertise relies mostly in the infrastructure sector, I am glad to collaborate with individuals from different backgrounds.
