Biography
Caitlin Blaser Mapitsa, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Monitoring and Evaluation at the University of the Witwatersrand School of Governance, where she leads research on evaluation systems and evidence use in complex socio-ecological contexts.
She has built coalitions across Africa to promote evidence-informed, justice-oriented decision-making across civil society, parliaments, governments, and development organizations. Her work focuses on strengthening national and regional evaluation systems in African contexts and bridging the gap between evidence production and its use in policy, particularly when it relates to land management, borders, and boundaries.
