Biography
Prof Aylwyn Walsh (ally) is committed to public engagement, participation and co-production. Her most recent work spans three main areas: the role of contemporary South African theatre in exploring issues of ‘harm and repair’, explored in the forthcoming book Harm and Repair. Secondly, the role of arts activism in climate justice movements; and thirdly, how arts organisations work to ‘hold conflict’. The thread that weaves through all my interests is a commitment to processes of ‘rehearsing change’ that can transform contexts. Many of the projects she undertakes are rooted in how communities experience social change, working through participation with marginalised groups, using creative methods.

What are you looking for
I am open to collaborations from across the disciplines, specifically from researchers invested in how publics/ communities experience social change or forms of oppression. I am interested in expanding the application of participatory arts to areas that would benefit from the stakes for the wider public, or integrating a community-focused element of research approaches.
